December 26th - De Mako and Crew (Jeff, Pete and I) had a good trip back from North Carolina, arriving last Thursday after a 35 hours / 585 mile run. It was great spending Christmas with my entire family at my sister Carol’s house in Somerset, drinking and eating too much, but hey, that’s Christmas! Today, “Boxing Day,” we decided to get offshore for a little half day of fishing. The plan was to start out on the Edge and work our way to the SE corner of Challenger Bank. At 8.30am, lines in and lots of seaweed! Five minutes later, a triple hook up with full success. Three nice size Wahoo’s in the boat, between 30 and 45lbs. Every run up the Edge would produce a strike or two and lots of seaweed to keep Pete and crew very busy. At 12.10 pm., we had ten Wahoo’s in the boat and it was time to head back. Everyone had afternoon party plans, but it sure was nice getting back to some fishing, for a change. De Mako is back and ready for the New Year, and Pete & I are looking forward to starting 2008 off in early January. It’s been a long time since I have been home to fish the “Winter Wahoo “months and it should be fun! So, should you get the itch, give us a call - we are ready!! |
